ABOUT

Australia

Gina Pinto is a researcher, writer and editor, and the recipient of an award from the Portuguese Consulate for her nonfiction book Partly Portuguese Almost Australian (2006).

The book sold out once the mothers spread the word on the Portuguese grapevine, and Dymocks, Angus & Robertson and Gleebooks ran out of copies.

Since attaining an MA in Writing from Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne in 2016, she has aspired to write fiction. Now, she puts in writing what she has done for years when telling stories - she embellishes.

She is currently working on twenty short stories and putting the final edits on a film script.

Her short stories appear in Australian Anthologies alongside established authors and fresh new talent.

She is inspired by the narratives of the unique voices from her past. She has one foot in Australia and the other in Portugal. And she 'talks the talk' in both languages.
